Webstandards
A healthy dose of links for the person in need of some information on webstandards:
Why?
- "The Web is not Print" Design rant
- Raise Your Standards
- "Unfortunately, a lot of web designers are under the impression that the page must look and function exactly the same in every browser. They are willing to write all kinds of bad markup and bad code to make that happen." Interview with Jeffrey Zeldman and Carrie Bickner
- "Why is it? Why is it that every other personal site or weblog these days seems to be authored in valid (X)HTML and CSS, while large content siteseven really hip ones, by companies that get itare so far from compliant that the W3C can only return a fatal error when you attempt to validate their pages?" Zeldman semi-rant.
- What are Web standards and why should I use them?
- CSS Talking Points.
How?
